The Press Club was started in 1982 nestled between the then Natal Mercury and Daily News buildings, hence the name “Press Club”.

A familiar lunchtime scene in the Press Club was large groups of journalists or horseracing enthusiasts discussing the day's odds or politics over lunch, creating a buzz that has carried through the years. A variety of meals are offered at the Press Club, bringing back all the old favourites!  All day Breakfasts range from the infamous Full PC Breakfast to Curried Durban Eggs - still a firm favorite after all these years.  Daily Specials include wholseome meals such as Casseroles, Curries, Lamb Shank, Traditional Livers, Homemade Pies and 300g Steak. Delicious wraps, salads and fresh "catch of the day" are also available for those looking for a lighter meal.

We also offer outside catering for functions. Choose from 3-course meals to a variety of platters and let the Press Club handle all your catering needs.

Our 3 Branches are situated in Umhlanga Centre, at Umhlanga College and the new Gateway Private Hospital.
